Working at EDAG since: 2006

Job title: Team Leader

When and how did you start working at EDAG?

I started working at EDAG at the end of 2006, I had been working in the area for about 3 years and the opportunity arose for an interview as a designer, and I was called to work here. I started working here as a Junior Designer. During all these years, I've had the opportunity to work on several projects, which range from simpler activities such as technical drawings to more challenging activities such as acting as a team leader, in another country, working with people of different nationalities and a language different from yours. In these more than 15 years here I learned a lot from my colleagues and thanks to this integration in the team and the diversification of projects and areas in which I have worked, I can say that EDAG was a great school too. And now with so many new faces in the company, I try whenever possible to share a little of what I've learned during all this time.

What do you like most about working at EDAG?

There is always a challenge, whether it's an activity you've never done before or creating a concept to solve an existing problem through your experience, as a designer the creative part is always put into practice, and it's very gratifying to see the product that I worked on, for months or years, taking to the streets and being used by people. On a day-to-day basis, activities can range from an ergonomics analysis, study of legislation, feasibility of 3D surfaces, creation and presentation with proposals in a given project to meetings with suppliers and customers.

I also find the opportunities to get to know other places and cultures through projects in other countries very interesting, and the exchange that this type of work provides, with the friendships that are made and cultures and places we know; among these opportunities I could mention the projects I worked on in Holland, Germany and Mexico, where I was able to live for a while and get to know a little more about the place and its culture.

What are some of your hobbies / What do you like to do outside of work?

I'm a very active person, I like to try new recipes in the kitchen, hang out with my family and friends, travel to see new places, go to exhibitions, get away for a weekend at the beach and play sports.  I currently practice yoga, do functional exercises during the week and after many years off I returned to playing handball as a goalkeeper, moved by challenges and competition. During the pandemic, I also discovered Beach tennis and fell in love with the sport and its dynamism. And whenever possible, I play football with my friends, a sport that I love and practice since I was a child. And, of course, travelling and discovering new places, whether it's a weekend or more distant places, I believe the most important thing is to come back with bags full of memories and experiences that will surely be taken with them for the rest of their lives.

Are business interactions part of these moments?

Yes, sometimes barbecue events have been organized and sometimes accompanied by a football game, including on one of these trips to Mexico I participated in a championship organized there, and it was a very fun moment, where I could get to know my colleagues a little more and also learn about their culture.
